PSYCHO SOCIAL SUPPORT

  • Counselling and keep record of learners experiencing Psycho Socio barriers (as referred by School Based Support Team - SBST), namely: OVC learners, Pregnant learners, Learners abusing substances, Learners presenting with Behavioral Challenges, School Uniform, Sanitary Towels from SASSA / USAID

 

  • Provide counselling to Educators and Administrators who may present with a wide array of personal, family, and/or work-related issues

 

  • Refer clients to community/external resources as part of the established plan, facilitate client contact with external resources, and act as a liaison and advocate on client's behalf.

  • Document data of all interventions with clients.

  • Conduct home visits when required

​​​​​​​

  • Compile and present Safety strategies that will assist the school

​​​​​​​

  • HIV AIDS and Health Files (All lists pertaining to memos and communique)

​​​​​​​

  • Facilitate logistical arrangements with Health Nurses from Department of Health

​​​​​​​

  • Attend meetings and workshops arranged by Department of Education

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • Provide feedback to the SBST regarding referred Psycho-social cases (e.g., Health Coordinator from the District, Social Workers from the Dept. of Social Development or NGO)
